GE MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1 Pack

The water tastes salty after installation. Water does not taste like the former factory installed filter. My tap water does not taste salty unfiltered. Probably would not buy again. Would buy the filter next time from an authorized GE distributor.

** UPDATE - The seller contacted me after this review, and offered to send me a replacement filter, free, and free shipping. It came very quickly (within 3 days of email). New filter works well, so the first filter is the problem must have just been a fluke. I would order from this seller again. Good product and great customer service.

After our last water filter out came the ice produced by our ice machine out cloudy. Not a big problem, except that the pollution in our waters would kind of freeze for a lump in the middle of the ice cubes. When the ice melted, it would leave those nasty looking lumps in our drinks. It is only the minerals in hard water (calcium and whatnot), but it is disturbing to watch. New filter = problem solved. But it would be nice if the price were lower in what is essentially an overgrown Britta filter.

I have had our GE refrigerator for 7 years. I change the water filter when change is on or if it reduces the water flow. You can cheat a little and turn on the water bills light to use the filter longer, but eventually you'll see the difference in water quality / flow. Be sure to change it then.

I hate the city water. Usually it is the taste that makes me. We had good water for 25 years and fresh taste (the absence of chemicals) has always been appreciated. To move into that area, we have treated city water, which I could not comfortably drink. Fortunately, GE refrigerator this filter installed. We get all our drinks and coffee water from the fridge dispenser. Make a world of difference. This filter is manufacturer's spec and work well. Never a taste of chemicals (if I do not cheat for a long time for change time). This was my first purchase through Amazon (2) and they are identical to other sellers and the price is better.

Recommend this filter to provide the highest quality drinking water.
